Naya Khang Peak (5,844 meters) is a stunning peak located in the Langtang Region, offering trekkers and climbers a perfect blend of trekking and technical climbing. This 12-day journey combines scenic trekking through the Langtang Valley and a climb to the summit of Naya Khang. The trek takes you through dense forests, traditional villages, and high-altitude landscapes before reaching the summit, which offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and the surrounding peaks.

This moderately challenging itinerary is suitable for trekkers with some high-altitude trekking experience, and it also includes acclimatization hikes to ensure safe climbing. The Naya Khang climb is a highlight of Nepal mountain climbing, offering a mix of adventure travel and high-altitude mountaineering. The climb itself involves ice climbing and alpine mountaineering, requiring technical skills and a guided ascent led by experienced climbing guides, all while offering breathtaking Himalayan views throughout the journey.

  • Begins with a long bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi.

  • Descent back through the Langtang Valley, retracing the trekking route.

Travel by bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a scenic journey taking about 8 hours through the hills and river valleys. Overnight in a lodge.

Begin trekking through lush forests, crossing suspension bridges, and passing Tamang villages. Overnight in a lodge.

Ascend through pine and rhododendron forests, enjoying views of Langtang Lirung. Overnight in a lodge.

A short trek leads to Kyanjin Gompa, home to a famous monastery and yak cheese factory. Overnight in a lodge.

A challenging hike to Tsergo Ri for breathtaking panoramic mountain views. This helps in acclimatization before the climb. Overnight in a lodge.

A steady ascent to Naya Khang Base Camp through alpine terrain. Overnight in tents.

A steep but rewarding trek to High Camp. Prepare for summit day. Overnight in tents.

Early morning ascent to the summit of Naya Khang Peak. Enjoy incredible Himalayan views before descending to Base Camp. Overnight in tents.

A short descent back to Kyanjin Gompa, where you can relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Overnight in a lodge.

A long but scenic descent back to Lama Hotel. Overnight in a lodge.

A final trek down to Syabrubesi through dense forests and traditional villages. Overnight in a lodge.

Return to Kathmandu by jeep or bus, a journey of about 7-8 hours. End of the trek.
