Description

Makalu Base Camp Trekking through Baule Pass is an ultimate adventurous destination for those who want to venture into the lap of Himalayas. The spectacular scenery of Mount Makalu (8,468 m) along with Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Barun Tse Peak are the highlights of the trip. This thrilling trek will take you to the maximum elevation above 4,840 meters at Makalu Base camp. During the trial, you will face thrilling and exciting high passes above 4,000 meters. The trek goes to the elevation above 4,000 meters several times which will be a wonderful experience to explore the Himalayas weather and climate.

The destination of our Makalu Base Camp Trekking lies in the Makalu Barun National Park in the north-eastern part of Nepal. The route passes through Arun River Valley, Num Village, Barun River Valley with close views of Himalayas giants. The Makalu Base Camp Trekking through Baule Pass takes you to the most remote part of Nepal. You will visit the incredible different places in your short period of time. The famous Makalu Barun National Park is home for 3,000 species of flowering plants, 75 species of mammals, and 440 species of birds. The major attractions of the conserved area are Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Himalayan Thar, and Wild Boar.

When is the best season to do Makalu Base Camp Trekking through Baule Pass?

The best season to trek over Makalu Base Camp is in spring and autumn. The months from March-May and September-early December are our recommended time to do the trek in Makalu Base Camp. The trekking trail takes you to the elevation above 4,800 meters so, it doesn’t sound better to start trekking in winter. The route passes through several high passes, so it may be risky in monsoon.

Itineraries

Our team will transfer you to the airport as per your schedule of flight to Tumlingtar. The 35 minutes of journey through air that goes over the Himalayas is really exciting. After lunch in Tumlingtar, we will start driving towards Num for the overnight stay.

Tented Camp.

You can drive up to Dovan Village and start trekking from there to Simma Village, or you can begin trekking from Num. The 5 hours of trekking will be really amazing and goes through farmlands and villages.

Tented Camp.

Even more exciting places are still to arrive and already you will be surprising with wonderful landscapes, inclined farmlands and pastureland. You will be walking through Nurbu Danda, and Sarange Danda which are popular animal pasturing areas.

Tented Camp.

It will take 6 to 7 hours to reach Dore from Kalapatal through gentle uphill climbing route. We will be staying in animal pastureland which is near to Dore Village.

Tented Camp.

The route will take you through the high pass  of Baule Pass at an elevation of 4,300 meters. The top of the pass offers most clear vistas of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu and many Himalayan Ranges. The outstanding outlooks of Baule Lake is awesome and precious that will certainly take your heart away.

Tented Camp.

Yet another harder day, as you will be crossing Jaljala Pass elevated over 4,500 meters offering close views of snow-capped peaks of Khumbu, and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Tented Camp.

The route goes ascending and descending until you reach the village of Yangle Kharka. The 6 hours of trekking through the rocky mountains and sometimes through the forests will take you to the Yangle Kharka.

Tented Camp.

The trek today will be a tough in comparison to the previous days as you will be gaining higher altitudes. You will walk for 5 hours to reach the beautiful village on the north side of the glacier.

Tented Camp.

You will be walking through the rocky mountainous roads to reach the base camp of one of the highest mountain in the world.

Tented Camp.

Spend one more day hiking around the base camp. Walk around to see movements of glaciers, and snowy peaks towering above you. Admire the beautiful views of Makalu Base Camp.

Tented Camp.

Wake up early in the morning, have a breakfast then clean the base camp area. Later begin descending towards Yak Kharka from the base camp.

Tented Camp.

Descend back through the same route carefully and walk gently while descending as trail may have got slippery. walk for 6- 7 hours to reach Dobate.

It will be tough day as you will be crossing two high passe in a single day. The ascending and descending to cross the passes will be little bit difficult. The exciting journey through high passes will offer spectacular outlooks of high massifs around us.

Tented Camp.

It will be 4 to 5 hours of easy trail through green forests along the bank of the river passing through several villages.

Tented camp.

Trek for 4 hours to reach Tashi Gaon through the gradual path crossing several villages and farmlands.

Stay in Lodge/ Tented Camp.

Today, you will walk for 5 hours to reach the beautiful village of Num.

Stay in Lodge/ Tented Camp.

We will manage you a jeep from Num to travel towards Khandbari which will take approximately 4 hours to get there.

Stay in hotel.

Drive a couple of hours to reach Tumlingtar from Khandbari. After lunch, fly to Kathmandu as per your schedule.
