Island Peak (6,189m), also known as Mount Imja Tse, is located in the Everest Region of Nepal and is one of the most popular trekking peaks for adventure enthusiasts. This climb offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and other towering Himalayan summits. The trek combines spectacular Himalayan landscapes, high-altitude villages, and the thrill of high-altitude climbing in the Himalayan adventure of a lifetime.

The 17-day itinerary takes you through the famous Everest Base Camp trail, with the final destination being the Island Peak Summit. From trekking through Namche Bazaar to reaching Kala Patthar for panoramic views, the journey is both a challenging and rewarding experience. The accommodation is a mix of tea-houses and tented camps, offering comfort and convenience throughout the journey. This mountaineering expedition is supported by experienced Sherpa guides, ensuring safety and success.

The trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a gradual ascent through the mountain trekking route of the Khumbu region. Along the way, trekkers will pass through iconic locations such as the Annapurna Circuit and prepare for the peak ascent with proper acclimatization to avoid altitude sickness.

Itineraries

 Drive from Kathmandu to Manthali in a private van/jeep. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours through scenic landscapes.

Fly from Manthali to Lukla, a short flight of about 4-5 hours. Upon arrival in Lukla, begin your trek to Phakding, where you will spend the night.

 Trek for 6-7 hours to Namche, the gateway to the Everest region. You will pass through forests and along rivers, with the promise of spectacular mountain views.

 Today is a rest day for acclimatization. Hike for 3 hours to the Everest Viewpoint and continue on to the village of Khumjung, where you can explore and adjust to the altitude.

Trek for 6 hours to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. The hike offers beautiful views of the surrounding peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

The trek to Feruche takes 5-6 hours. You will pass through alpine forests, with the peaks of the Himalayas rising higher in the distance.

Trek for 5 hours to reach Lhobuche. The scenery is stunning as you move closer to the high-altitude environment of the Everest region.

 Trek for 4 hours to reach Gorakshep, and after lunch, hike for 3 more hours to Kalapathar for stunning sunset views of the Everest range. This is one of the most iconic viewpoints of the entire trek.

 Trek to Everest Base Camp, which will take 7-8 hours. After spending time at Base Camp, descend back to Lhobuche.

Trek for 6 hours to Chhukung, a small village in the Everest region, known for its breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Trek for 5 hours to reach the Island Peak Base Camp, where you will prepare for your summit attempt.

Summit Island Peak at 6,189 meters. After reaching the top and enjoying the panoramic views, you’ll descend back to the Base Camp.

Trek for 6 hours to Pangboche, a Sherpa village situated at an altitude of 3,930 meters.

Trek for 6 hours back to Namche, retracing your steps through beautiful forests and rivers.

Trek for 5-6 hours back to Phakding. This will be a downhill trek, as you retrace your steps through the peaceful forest trails.

Trek for 4 hours to Lukla. You’ll arrive in Lukla to complete the last day of trekking.

Fly from Lukla to Manthali, and then drive back to Kathmandu in a private jeep/microbus, completing your trip. The journey takes about 4-5 hours.
