This trek is an amalgamation of Gokyo, Chola Pass, and Kalapathar. Starting from Phaplu and heading towards Thaksindo, Kharikhola, Paiya, and Namche Bazaar, where a rest day and hiking for acclimatization will take place. Namche Bazaar is known among trekkers as a place for altitude acclimatization and the refilling center of their necessary stock.
The Gokyo valley is an amazing setting with the inclusion of the Gokyo Lake and the Gokyo Ri peak. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu are visible from the Gokyo valley. In Gokyo valley, trekkers will climb the Gokyo Ri (5,357 m.) and descend to Thaknag to cross the Cho La Pass (5,368 m.).
When in Gorakshep, trekkers will take an early morning hike to Kalapathar (5,545 m.) and Everest BC (5,310 m.). This can be done in a day. Gorakshep is the easiest route that leads to Kalapathar. Everest, Changtse, Nuptse Nup II, and also a part of Lhotse is seen from Kalapathar.
