Description

This trek is an amalgamation of Gokyo, Chola Pass, and Kalapathar. Starting from Phaplu and heading towards Thaksindo, Kharikhola, Paiya, and Namche Bazaar, where a rest day and hiking for acclimatization will take place. Namche Bazaar is known among trekkers as a place for altitude acclimatization and the refilling center of their necessary stock.

The Gokyo valley is an amazing setting with the inclusion of the Gokyo Lake and the Gokyo Ri peak. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu are visible from the Gokyo valley. In Gokyo valley, trekkers will climb the Gokyo Ri (5,357 m.) and descend to Thaknag to cross the Cho La Pass (5,368 m.).

When in Gorakshep, trekkers will take an early morning hike to Kalapathar (5,545 m.) and Everest BC (5,310 m.). This can be done in a day. Gorakshep is the easiest route that leads to Kalapathar. Everest, Changtse, Nuptse Nup II, and also a part of Lhotse is seen from Kalapathar.

Itineraries

Travel from Kathmandu to Phaplu by bus through beautiful highway with splendid views of terraced farming along the bank of the river.

We will start our trekking towards Thaksindo from Phaplu through the riverbank crossing rivers and beautiful forests listening twitting of birds.

We will start our trek walking through colorful Sherpa village, Gompa, Monasteries Chorten and Mani to reach Kharikhola.

We will climb steeply towards Paiya through the dense forests of Rhododendron. We will cross beautiful rivers and Sherpa Villages.

We will walk through the bank of the river and pass beautiful villages and forests of Pine and Rhododendron to reach Phakding.

Trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar (3,435 m) via sparkling village Monju, Banker and Jorasalle. From the trail slowly goes two and half hour uphill to Namche Bazaar through Rhododendron and pine forest. You can see the first glimpse of Everest, Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, and gate way of Everest base camp.

We will hike uphill to the Sherpa Settlement in Khunde and Khumjung Village. Khumjung settlement is the largest village of Khumbu region. After having lunch we will hike back to Namche Bazaar.

We will start our trek early in the morning towards Dole through the dense forests of Rhododendron. We will climb steeply upwards and walk through the plain terraced village to reach Dole at afternoon.

The whole trail is zigzag to Gokyo Lake. The stunning mountain vista seen from the Gokyo region is captivating. We will enter into the Gokyo Lake after 6 hours of walking.

We will trek to Gokyo Ri starting early in the morning. The summit offers the enthralling vista of Cho You, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. While climbing down to Gokyo Lake we can enjoy the view of Gokyo Lake. Then we will descend towards Thaknag for the overnight stay in tea house.

The trail from here goes  steeply climb directly to Cho La Pass at (5,414 m). We will cross Cho La carefully and walk down hill to reach Dzongla village.

The route follows the rocky moraine path and goes along side of the icy glacial pond below the Khumbu Glacier towards Gorakshep.

We will start climbing towards Kala Pathhar view point early in the morning to grab the amazing vistas of Hmalayas and sunrise beyond them. Then we descend for half an hour then hike towards Everest Base Camp. We will enjoy the undefinable scenery from the base camp and descend back to Gorakshep for the overnight stay.

We will start our trekking towards Pheruche early in the morning and walk for 5 hours to get into the small town of Pheruche.

The trekking path crosses the villages, monasteries, small waterfalls, bridges and hills to the Tengboche Village.

We will walk through the Rhododendron forests and Pine forests and cross Phungethaga, Trashinga, and Sanasa Village to reach Namche Bazaar.

The path continues through the Rhododendron and Pine forest to reach Lukla.

We will fly back to Kathmandu taking early flight.
