Description

Chulu Far East Peak, standing at an elevation of 6,059 meters (19,880 feet), is a stunning trekking peak located in the Annapurna Region of Nepal, within the Manang District. Part of the Chulu massif, this peak offers a fantastic combination of trekking and peak climbing, making it an ideal choice for adventurers looking for an introduction to Himalayan mountaineering. The climb involves traversing snow slopes and glaciers, including the Glacier Dome, requiring basic mountaineering skills. From the summit, climbers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Tilicho Peak.

The journey to Chulu Far East Peak is made even more special by passing through the Nar-Phu Valley, a hidden gem in the Annapurna Region. The Nar-Phu Valley, opened to trekkers in 2002, is a remote and culturally rich area inhabited by Tibetan-influenced communities. The valley is known for its medieval villages, such as Nar Village and Phu Village, ancient Buddhist monasteries, dramatic cliffs, and untouched wilderness. Trekking through this isolated region provides an authentic experience of the high Himalayas, away from the more crowded trails of the Annapurna Circuit. The valley’s proximity to the Tibetan Plateau and its Gurung culture add to its unique charm.

The expedition to Chulu Far East Peak, combined with the Nar-Phu Valley trek, is perfect for adventure seekers who want both a challenging climb and an immersive cultural experience. The route includes crossing high mountain passes, such as Kang La Pass (5,322m) and Mesokanto La Pass, which offer breathtaking views of the Annapurna range. Along the way, trekkers can also visit Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, and experience the dramatic landscapes of the region. This expedition is an extraordinary journey that blends high-altitude trekking and Himalayan mountaineering with exploration of one of Nepal’s most remote and mystical valleys, offering a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and natural beauty.
