Description

The Bokta Peak (6,143 m.) is located in the Kanchanjunga. Trek to the Bokta Peak is graded as much difficult and demanding one. So the trek demands a good health condition and experience too.

A vista of the Mt. Kanchanjunga (8,586 m.), Dhormo (6,850 m.), Kumbhakarna (7,710 m.), Nupchu (6,690 m.) and some other ranges can be enjoyed from the Bokta Peak. The first ascent to the Bokta Peak was made in 1991 by a Slovenian team.

The Yalung glacier (4,886 m.) that comes before the Bokta Peak is another beautiful place during this trek. From Yalung glacier, the south part of Mt. Kanchanjunga can be seen.

The traditional ethnic villages, awe-inspiring mountain views, and the remoteness of the trek make this Kanchanjunga region trek a magnificent one.

Itineraries

We will take an early flight to Suketar after breakfast. In the day-time, we will hike around the town and explore the ethnic cultures of people residing here interacting with them.

We will walk through the several villages and across the farmlands to reach Chiruwa Village.

We will start the ascending towards the Park’s Registration Office to register your identity and cross the river. Then gradually walk ascending and descending several times to reach Sakathum Village.

The trail goes through narrow and slippery rocky path to reach Solima Village. Then walking through the zigzag hilly trail, we will reach Amjilosa after 6 hours of trekking.

Today, we will pass through the amazing forests of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo trees. These forest owns the verities of rare animals and birds. We will cross rivers several times to reach Gyabala Village.

Our trek pass through Pine forests and reach Phole. In Phole will see many yak herders and their unique settlement. Then the route broadens and after two hours walk we will reach to Ghumsa, the settlement of Sherpa community.

We will take rest whole day to acclimatize ourselves. We can explore the surrounding area of Ghunsa Village.

Today we will walk through the path where there occurs landslides occasionally. The route goes through the bridge at Rampuk Kharka to reach Khambachen finally.

The route crosses through the farming and grazing lands nearer of Ramtang Village. Then the route starts climbing through slippery and narrow path before we reach Lhonak Village.

We will walk towards Kanchenjunga Base Camp through the rocky and narrow path before, we start climbing steeply up. Then, we will walk through snow-covered path to reach the base Camp. he mountains like Kanchenjunga (North Face of this mountain), Chang, Kirat Chuli and many other high mountains can be seen on a clear weather. We will stay overnight at tented camp in BC.

We will descend back to Khambachen bypassing Lhonak Village.

We will descend back to Ghunsa through the same route, we just walked some days earlier.

Overnight at Tented Camp

We will continue our walking through the dense Rhododendron and Juniper Forest to reach Sele La Phedi.

After breakfast,we will climb towards Sele La Pass, from where you can see Mt Makalu (it’s East Face) and Jannu Himal (it’s South Face). Then we will climb downhill to reach Tseram Village.

With the stunning outlooks of snow-capped peaks we will trek towards Ramche Village through the alpine valley (4,500 m). You can enjoy the great scenery of glacier.

The high mountains are always surrounding you on your trek routes, and that is truly amazing. After a walk of 4 to 5 hours uphill and downhill, you reach at Yalung Base Camp.

Today, we will reach the elevation above 5,000 meters. So, we must be careful about our health condition. We have to be more careful and calm to ascend the route that would be slippery and snowy.

We will walk approximately 4 hours ascending towards the High Camp. The route offers spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, as we ascend towards the Bokta Peak High Camp.

Early in the morning, our climbing guide will take us for summit the Bokta peak which has an elevation of 6,143 meters and return to the base camp.

Overnight at Bokta peak base camp

We will descend back through the same route to stay overnight in Yalung Base Camp.

We will pass through Simbuwa River and the dense forested areas to reach beautiful village of Tortan. Overnight at a Guest house.

We will cross the beautiful river and Lasiya Bhanjyang before we enter into the valley. Walking through the valley, we will reach Sherpa Village of Yamphudin.

We will walk along the bank of Kabeli River and ascend slightly to reach Mamanke Village.

The trail goes through the beautiful rice terrace fields and cross the several villages like Phonpe to reach Kesuwa village.

The route crosses the rhododendron forests and passes the Kunjari village and ascends towards the Bahanjyang. Then the trail goes downwards to reach the village of Tambawa.

We will trek back to Suketar descending downhill all the way through forested landscapes.

We will explore the Terai region of Nepal by traveling via bus to return back to Kathmandu. We will stay 1 night in Chitwan and continue traveling back to Kathmandu.
