Description

The Annapurna Mulde View Trek is a short yet remarkably rewarding journey in the lower Annapurna region, designed for trekkers seeking stunning Himalayan panoramas without committing to a long or high-altitude expedition. The trek winds through charming Gurung villages, lush rhododendron forests, and pristine alpine landscapes, culminating at Mulde View Point (3,660m), one of the most breathtaking sunrise viewpoints in Nepal. From here, trekkers are rewarded with sweeping 270-degree views of iconic peaks such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli, often above a sea of morning clouds.

The route passes through cultural gems like Ghandruk, Tadapani, Dobato, and Ghorepani, villages known for their warm hospitality, stone-paved trails, and traditional mountain architecture. Each step of the trail reveals something new: deep forests bursting with birdlife, high ridges offering dramatic skyline vistas, and moments of quiet reflection in the heart of the Himalayas. Unlike some of the more commercialized Annapurna routes, the trail to Mulde remains relatively peaceful and less traveled, preserving its natural charm and intimacy with the landscape.

Perfect for families, first-time trekkers, or anyone short on time, this 8-day itinerary blends gentle trekking with cultural immersion and scenic grandeur. With teahouse accommodation, professional guides, and an easy connection to Pokhara, the trek is logistically smooth yet deeply fulfilling. The moderate altitude ensures a safer, more accessible trekking experience without sacrificing the visual drama of the high Himalayas, making the Annapurna Mulde View Trek one of the best short treks in Nepal.

Itineraries

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon to rest or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel before the trek briefing.

Today begins with a scenic 6–7 hour drive to Pokhara, either by tourist bus or private car. Once in Pokhara (827m), you'll check into a lakeside hotel with time in the evening to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere by Phewa Lake.

After breakfast, drive for about 3 hours by jeep or local bus to the picturesque village of Ghandruk. Following lunch, begin your trek toward Tadapani, ascending through forested trails for approximately 3–4 hours. Tadapani offers beautiful sunset views and the first clear glimpse of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

Today's trail climbs steadily through dense rhododendron and oak forests, with occasional mountain views. The trek takes around 5–6 hours, gradually gaining altitude as you reach the peaceful settlement of Dobato for an overnight stay.

Before dawn, set out on a 30–40 minute uphill walk to reach Mulde View Point for sunrise. This is one of the best viewpoints in the Annapurna region, offering 360-degree Himalayan views. After returning to Dobato for breakfast, continue your trek along undulating forest trails for 7–8 hours, finally reaching the colorful village of Ghorepani (2,850m), famous for its views and vibrant teahouse culture.

After breakfast, descend through lush greenery and stone steps toward Hile, which takes about 4 hours. Once in Hile, meet your vehicle and enjoy a 3-hour drive back to Pokhara. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening by the lakeside.

Enjoy a relaxed morning with some sightseeing options such as Devi’s Falls, World Peace Pagoda, or boating on Phewa Lake. Later in the afternoon, fly back to Kathmandu (approx. 25 minutes), where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a farewell dinner.

Depending on your flight time, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international departure. Farewell and safe travels!
