Description

The Amphu Laptsa Pass is a difficult pass in the Khumbu region. The old civilization, monasteries, and the welcoming Sherpa people of the region add on to the high Himalayas and assist in attracting tourists. The Amphu Laptsa trek borrows the features of a classic expedition.

The Mera peak lies in the southeast of the Everest.

Mera Peak (6,476m.) is the highest trekking peak located in the Sagarmatha Zone. It is considered as an uncomplicated ascent. The first ascent to Mera Peak was made in 1953, May 20. The Mera Peak trek is technically a straightforward ascent. So, nowadays, trekkers sought after Mera Peak. However, adjusting to the high altitude of Mera Peak becomes a challenge for some trekkers. From the Mera Peak, the splendid panorama of Makalu, Kanchanjunga, Cho Oyu and Everest can be seen.

Itineraries

We will take early flight to Lukla. Then after breakfast, we start our trekking towards Phakding through the beautiful forests of Rhododendron and Pines.

The trekking route goes along the bank of Dudh Koshi River crossing different villages and walking through the Sagarmatha National Park.

We will hike to Khunde Village today. The trail first goes slightly uphill then goes straight for a while then traverse through Kumjung to reach Khunde Village. Then descend back to Namche Bazaar.

We will cross some beautiful forests of Rhododendron and Pinea and small settlements of Sherpa people along the way to Tengboche.

The trekking trail becomes more steep and strenuous as we climb up to higher altitude. We will cross the ridge of high cliffs to reach Dingboche.

With the splendid vistas of high massifs above us and beautiful scenery of river flowing beneath us, we traverse towards Chhukung for 6 hours.

We will trek to Chhukung Ri Mountain to get the wonderful vistas of Everest Base Camp, and fantastic views of Imja Tse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, and Nuptse. Then return back to Chhukung.

We will climb uphill towards base camp of Amphu Laptsa which lies at an elevation of 5,350 m. The route is quite challenging so, we must be careful and walk gen

The crossing of the pass requires the use of technical climbing equipment. The trekkers must be skilled in the use of this and be prepared. Amphu Laptsa Pass holds the views of Himalayas and hearty scenery of Hongu lakes and Panch Pokhari lakes. Then we will trek down to another base camp of Amphu Laptsa.

We will trek towards Panch-pokhari village which means “the Five Lakes”. The route goes through the ridge of cliffs.

With the amazing views of Pach-pokhari surrounding, we will leave the place and head towards Kongme Dingma.

We traverse towards Mera La early in the morning and walk for 5 hours to get there.

Summit to Mera Peak. It will be great day for you. Then back to Mera La. After lunch continue descending towards Khare for the overnight stay.

The route goes steadily uphill and sometimes descend until we reach Thanang.

We will take rest in Thanang.

We will trek towards Tashing Dingma with stunning views of high massifs along the way.

Today, we will cross another thrilling pass i.e. Zatra La Pass.

Today, the trai goes extremly downhill to enter into the village of Chuthanga.

We will continue walking downhill towards Lukla.
