Gosainkunda Lake is located in the Rasuwa District of Nepal. The lake lies in the Lantang National Park at an altitude of 4,380 m. Gosainkunda Lake is a place of religious importance to the Hindus. It is situated 43 kilometers away from Kathmandu. It is believed that the Lake is an abode of Hindu deities Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri. In the month of August, huge numbers of devotees from Nepal as well as India come to the Gosainkunda Lake, on the occasion of Janai Purnima.
The Lantang village is located near the Nepal-Tibet border. Lantang lies to the north of Kathmandu. The Rhododendron forests and several snow-capped mountains are the attractions of Lantang.
